Changes to smoke alarm legislation is here!
So, to all you home owner’s and investors out there.

An important update that you should be aware of is the recent changes to smoke alarm legislation.

Some of you may already know that the government has brought in new legislation for smoke alarms and this new legislation will be phased in over the next ten years.

Basically this means all new homes or substantial renovations require hard wired interconnected smoke alarms in all bedrooms, hallways leading to bedrooms and on all levels of the house. For existing homes from the 1st of January 2022, all homes leased or sold will need to comply and so will all other homes from 1 January 2027.
